Maurie Curwood Student Award:

Kirk Gibson, School of Social Sciences

Kirk, a Swinburne Community Development Diploma student, has spent considerable time volunteering in community-based projects overseas, including forming an organisation to support a school in Cambodia and working in Nepal. Kirk has also served as the Prahran Campus Chair in the Swinburne Student Union and demonstrated his commitment to the principles of social justice and community development in his application. Kirk was awarded a $2,000 prize.

Les Partdrige
Les has been instrumental in the redevelopment of the Swinburne electrical practical workshops, to enable them to employ current and new technologies.

His enthusiasm in his work has stimulated interest and support for a more practical and industry-relevant training program.

Les ws awarded a $2,000 prize to continue his professional development.
