Purpose and Description
This course is designed for people with supervisory responsibility and provides participants with and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety while giving them the tools to implement and monitor Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures and programs. The course informs participants on the Occupational Health and Safety legislation, how they can maintain Health and Safety standards and the principles which need to be adopted for them to become effective OH&S managers
The Course learning aims are:
- Understand how the adoption of OH&S policies and procedures makes for a productive safe Workplace
- To ensure that the provisions of OH&S legislation is implement and monitored. Including the duties of the employees and the other key provisions included in the Act.
- To enhanced the supervisors/managers skills by initiating and ensuring effective participatory management practices in the area of OH&S.
- Understand the importance of implementing and monitoring workplace procedures to identify hazards, assess risks and control them in the workplace
- Understand how the reduction of OH&S incidents in the work place and reduces costs to the organisation.
- Understand the relationship between management system breakdown and the causes of incidents/accidents in the workplace
- 3+ weeks prior to program: full refund
