Pre-requisites

• Current HLTFA301B Apply First Aid Certificate
• Current HLTFA402B Apply Advanced First Aid Certificate
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• Minimum of 12 months teaching experience in the area of first aid
• It is strongly recommended that participants subscribe to the Australian Resuscitation Council

Entry Requirements

Participants must provide certified copies of the prerequisite qualifications, along with the course booking form.

Participants must also provide a current CV detailing first aid teaching experience.

Topics

Throughout the course, participants will learn the following:

• Use of the Swinburne Learning Materials (Trainer Guides and Learner Guides) in the workplace and in the classroom
• How to deliver training to various groups at differing levels of skill
• How to identify student's levels of comprehension
• How to identify gaps in students' knowledge and skills
• How to identify students' strong areas of expertise

As part of the course cost participants will receive:

• A First Aid text
• Module Learner's Guide and Workbook
• Code of Practice 'First Aid in the Workplace' - Sample Material Safety Data Sheets
• Practice in the use of portable oxygen equipment
• Practice in the use of resuscitation manikins and other practice first aid management materials
